Hi mate,

To post photos there is a tab down below when you reply in full to add attachments. I usually re-size them to about 800x600 as the best fit and upload.

I've had trouble with bmp's of late but other formats like tif or jpeg are pretty easy.

Glad you got back to us, a short trip north is brilliant.

As for the tint I found a local guy and all of my kids and all of my cars that have been tinted go there. Don't even ask for a quote so Ican't help you there unfortunately.

For anyone on the north side of Sydney...Rob at Hunters Hill Window Tinting, absolutely brilliant.

Hi mnrolvr

Thanks for the info regarding the tab below for adding photos, the only tab I can see is "Options", in the other Forums I frequent the "Add Attachment" button is along side this, but not visible here.....? The only other buttons visible are "Save Draft", "Preview" and "Submit".

Anyway, my car didn't come with a glove box key, went to Holden with the VIN to order one, they could only sell me a blank and provide me with the Ignition Key Number for a locksmith to cut the new key. Went to the locksmith who wants $15 to cut the key, and Holden hasn't given the right number.........starting to understand why the previous owner didn't bother!

Don't talk to me about keys....

Elsewhere on the forum is a rant by me regarding the purchase of a new coded key from a locksmith and the dramas experienced in the programming of same...

It is hard to know what parts to squirrel away and what to purchase. All parts are becoming harder to get now...

It would be amusing about the wrong code if it wasn't so frustrating...

I am not sure whether the upload attachment tab is not visible to you due to your access level....I believe LE Coupe may be able to answer that question???

There may be a way in the permissions to rectify this also.. I will await reply from my esteemed colleague.. ;)

Yup, I have it set so that new users cannot post attachments. Not too sure why I did that, but it was probably an effort to stop spammers (they post a jpg of their viagra ads)

If you like, email me your pics and I'll attach them here: andrew.mcwhirter@live.com.au

Cheers - Andrew

Thanks guys regarding posting photos, I will email some soon.

Well the saga continued with the glove box key, I ended up returning the new blank key back to Holden before buying a complete new barrel with key from Holden, $45.00. The next hassle came when I tried to get someone to open the locked glove box without damaging the lid. Nobody was confident so I just about gave up. I was cleaning the car and I came across an ID card for the car, and on it was the glove box key number (along with other vital numbers), so I raced down to the locksmith and I got the new key cut after handing over the $15.00. I unlocked the glove box and guess what was in there........the bloody original glove box key! Nothing else at all, just the glove box key. So, now I have two glove box keys. I returned the new barrel and key to Holden and they were happy to refund my money. Saga over!

Happy ending there Peter!

II gotta ask though.... How the hell do you lock the key inside the locked glove box?? Don't you need the key to lock it??!?

Yes I thought the exact same thing. I believe the original keys came with two ignition keys, one glove box key, and a "valet" key. The valet key is supposed to let you lock valuables in the glove box before handing the keys to the parking attendant, the valet key isn't able to unlock the glove box. It still doesn't explain how or why the previous owner locked the glove box key inside, but I'm just glad the thing is open.

A quick Hi to introduce myself.

I am someone who had a longing for a Monaro when they were first released but never had the spare coin.

Now own very close to the last CV8Z I bought new, an Le HX original and untouched ( I know it is not really a Monaro but it is the last of the shape). Hunting for HG GTS original as possible.

To get these 3 shapes will be my dream. Hopefully I am close.
