introductions

Postby Ht Frank » Tue 19 Jul, 2016 11:33 pm

Hi all members Frank from Adelaide here.
Am first of all a big Holden man, currently have FJ Ute,HK Kingswood,EJ Special Sedan, HT Monaro, CV8Z Monaro.
Though have always had a huge passion for all things MONARO, you see probably as most of you I had my first at 21 HJ 4.2 four speed 4 door.
I am now 56 as usual life got in the way and kids and mortgage's but never gave up on the Monaro ownership dream, I Am indeed Blessed.
I bought the last Monaro new in 2005 A Devil Yellow CV8Z Luv that car only done 9000 Km"s But always really wanted a HK-Tor G.
Bought my Ht in 2011 a Kashmire White 186s GTS, without motor and running gear, but body excellent with new 10x Trim [Black].
Decided to do a full Resto Which is part of the reason I joined the Forum, so will need advise and expertise from Monaro people.
Cant help myself so I've decided to spray it in Sebring Orange and place in a worked 350 with Trimatic Trans, the Knees cant do manual any longer
The body and trim will be originally like a 350 Bathurst model, but under the hood will be ,lets say just a legal streeter.
So would be eternally grateful for help along the way.
My first query the stainless wheel arch and seal panel moulds, are the inserts painted black or just polished Stainless Steel?
Makes sense that they are just like the boot strip mould, I desperately want the car to look original.
Thank you so much looking forward to further chats, cheers for now.

Hi Frank,
We're pretty much Sydney based and all in NSW...
Mate this forum is pretty much a done deal now as just about everyone is on Farce, sorry Facebook, including this group who have a closed page.

Can I suggest Farcebook to you? There's at least 2 Monaro pages there that I am a member of and a heap of Holden pages. There's specifically a HK-T-G group as well as the CV8 group that I am in. We've got some great people in this group with a heap of knowledge, it's just getting them on here now. I check in daily for this very reason.

Anyway, if you like stay in touch and I can forward some stuff on to the people in this club who have the knowledge if you so desire. All the very best mate, Peter.
No doubt about it I gotta get another hat!Image

Hi everyone! I'm Lottie Shields, I've just joined this community. Nice to see you all here. I think we will find answers we are interested in thanks to qualified help of moderators.
Nothing is cooler and more attractive than pokiestar.com a big comeback, and that'll be me.
