Introductions

Postby LECoupe » Mon 12 Nov, 2012 9:28 am

I guess it's sort of traditional that there is an introductions thread on forums so let's not make MODE the exception!

Now the trouble with starting these threads is that I have to go first I suppose....

Hi, My names is Andrew and I am an alcho....oh wait a minute....wrong club.

Never mind me: new forum people, please feel free to pop in here and say hi. (I'm looking at you Brad... Haven't heard from you in ages!)

Cheers - Andrew

Here goes ...
My father wanted a HK GTS Coupe in 1968 but due to the growing family
cancelled & took the New Kingswood instead.
I still remember the salesmen from John A Gilbert Broadway who delivered the
Gleaming White "new generation Holden" sedan to our Driveway .

Anyway .Fast-forward..
Still have dads HK shop manual for my HT GTS 186 s
& For reference his HK Accessories brochure with the inspiring cat woman
is very handy Too !

Hi
Just joined the forum, I didnt realize that it was for an actual car club.
Was sort of hoping on a bit more content on here, but Admin has advised me that the forum has basically restarted.
Am also hoping to find more productive forum than some of the other car / LS forums currently popular on the net which seem to quite full of haters shouting each other down.
Between my father and I -

Black CV8, blown iron block 402, M6
HQ coupe, mini tubs, 350 small block
HQ coupe, 6/71 Dart 402
HK coupe, awaiting resto.

You guys got a sydney based club?
Could someone PM me some info please.

G'day Smash 69,

Sorry mate, I am a moderator as well as club member and only just saw that this post was awaiting approval (we try to keep the bots and crawlers out of here).

In a nutshell mate, we are a Sydney based club, more a group of people who own Monaros. We have several members into motor sport and have multiple affiliation.

We also have some pretty knowledgeable members and although the public area is a bit thin, there is a club members area and it is mostly used for communication for runs, meetings and some other crap as well....

We have a breakfast meeting on the 2nd Sunday of the month and usually a run somewhere on the 4th Sunday of the month. I can still PM you if you wish or we can continue to contact here or whatever mate.

It is true that our last forum was taken over by a different host and we moved here as our club email was hijacked for spam about the same time as the new host came on board so we erred on the side of caution. Not much here at the moment, due largely to the new forum and the time of year and not too much in the public area anyway due to the reasons above.

Feel free to contribute, ask questions or whatever you feel here, if you want to come along and meet us let us know either here or however you like and we'd love to meet up with you.

Cheers.
No doubt about it I gotta get another hat!Image

Hello everyone,
My name is Brett and I'm from the blue mountains.
Hopefully will get to meet you all in person at some stage and I'm very keen to come along on your monthly runs.
I have a v2 devil yellow monaro, with a stroked 427 iron block, it is a torque monster but very street able and very reliable.
It is getting a few more mods done as I like to be slightly different lol.
Not really sure what else to say but keen to help anyone with the small amount of knowledge I have and wouldn't mind learning from some of you guys.
Cheers
Brett
